'Scumbags': Alan Davies shares fury at Ariana Grande ticket resale sites over £4k price hike

Alan Davies has hit out at “scumbag” resale sites over the inflated prices of tickets to Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour.

Grande’s eight-night run of concerts at London’s 02 Arena in August 2026 marks the Dangerous Woman singer's first tour in six years since her Sweetener world tour in 2019.

Davies, 59, explained that he tried and failed to get tickets for his daughter - and later learned they were appearing on sites like Viagogo for hundreds of pounds more.

The comedian shared a screenshot of tickets costing up to £1,500 on Viagogo on X on Tuesday. The original tickets started at £76 and went up to £405 for VIP packages.

“Hmm, I joined the @ticketmaster Ariana Grande pre-sale waiting room ahead of the 10am start, on behalf of my teenage daughter,” the QI star posted.

“And while I was queuing for an hour like a mug these tickets had already appeared on the scumbag tout sites, now the gig is showing as sold out. Wicked.”

The tickets, which went on pre-sale on Tuesday, sold out within minutes, leaving many frustrated fans trying to purchase some on re-sale sites.

Users shared their anger over the hiked up prices on social media.

“Viagogo tickets for Ariana Grande which JUST WENT ON SALE if you bought tickets just to resell I genuinely wish the worst for you,” one raged.

“Ticketmaster please make it so people can only resell for face value.”

Another added: “Couldn’t get Ariana Grande tickets in the 02 presale today. But shock horror they’re on Viagogo for 100% mark up on face value or in some cases 200/300% mark up.

“The system is a joke, people get ripped off by touts all the time!! I have one disappointed daughter.”

Someone else raged: “£1,290 for an Ariana Grande ticket on Viagogo, don’t p*** me off been trying for 3 hours now - resellers r the devil.”

As of Wednesday, Viagogo tickets for one of Grande’s London shows next August and September were as much as £4,000 and the cheapest were £430, per the Daily Mail.

Grande - who previously sparked fears she was quitting music - is set to perform in London on August 15, 16, 19, 20, and 23 next year.

Three more shows were added on Tuesday, with the Wicked: For Good actress, 32, now set to play August 24, 27 and 28 as well.

Fans will get another chance to nab tickets during the general sale on Thursday, September 18.
