Sarah Jayne Dunn leads glam stars braving the wind for Grand National opening day

Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn led the celeb glamour on the first day of Aintree.

The 41-year-old actress bravely chose to wear a pink ruffle mini dress and no tights despite the blustery rain, wind and temperatures of just 11C today.

But the former Hollyoaks star, who now rakes in thousands a month from her OnlyFans page, looked as stylish as ever as she battled through the bad weather in gold platform heels and a chic grey trench coat.

She held on to husband Jonathan’s arm as they arrived at the Randox Grand National Festival in Liverpool.

Another famous face spotted amongst the crowds was Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell, aka Kevin Webster.

Looking a far cry from his mechanic character on the cobbles, Michael donned a smart suit and gave a thumbs up to photographers as he went past.

The three-day festival is one of the most highly anticipated events in the racing calendar and will see up to 150,000 attend over the next three days.

Even more celeb faces are set to be spotted tomorrow when the hats will be out in full force for Ladies Day.

Let’s just hope the wind settles down as some racegoers were definitely caught off guard today by Storm Noa, which predicted winds of up to 70mph.

Some saw their hats get blown right off their heads by strong gusts this afternoon.

Others saw their hair dos ruffled by the breeze as they made their way through the iconic racecourse.

But racegoers didn't let the bad weather dampen their spirits as they continued watching the races.

Many were spotted enjoying a drink or two with glasses of champagne, beers and gin and tonics appearing free flowing.

This year’s Aintree is the first time the festival has gone ahead as normal following the pandemic.

Race-loving royals such as Zara Phillips and husband Mike Tindall are expected to attend Aintree this year.

Famous faces who have been spotted at the event before include Made In Chelsea's Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, who has already said she has three outfits ready for this year's event.

Reality star Charlotte Dawson, who is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson, and former Corrie star Helen Flanagan also turned on the glam in the past at Aintree.
