S Club confirm tour will go ahead as another band member pulls out after Paul's death

The group formerly known as S Club 7 have assured fans around the UK that their reunion tour is still going ahead following the tragic loss of bandmate Paul earlier this year.

The group were praised and offered support by fans after taking to social media to make the special announcement confirming they'll still be heading out around the UK, including their much anticipated Glasgow date in October.

In a heartfelt video, the remaining members revealed they have rebranded themselves as a five-piece and will now be called S Club after fellow member Hannah Spearitt also decided not to join the UK-wide reunion tour.

The news comes just a few weeks after the tragic death of Paul Cattermole. The founding member sadly passed away at his home in Dorset on April 6 at the age of 46.

Following his passing away, some fans had assumed the reunion tour might not go ahead.

However, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett confirmed that they would still be appearing at each of the confirmed dates this autumn.

Speaking in the clip, they said: "In all honesty, we’ve been in a bit of shock".

Jo and Tina can be seen wiping away tears as they paid tribute to Paul, who they said would 'light up a room'.

The five of them go on to explain that they have renamed their 'S Club 7 Reunited Tour' to the 'Good Times Tour', in tribute to Paul, "because that was his song". Commenting on the decision, Tina said: "It feels right."

Jon also told fans: “You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour. We wish her all the best for the future.”

Heartened by the news fans flocked to offer their support for the group.

One wrote: "Renaming the tour is such a beautiful tribute. Sending love to you all."

While another added: "Sending so much love. calling the tour 'Good Times' will be a beautiful tribute to Paul."

The S Club 'Good Times Tour' is coming to the OVO Hydro, Glasgow on Wednesday 18th October. Tickets are on sale on Ticketmaster and Gigs in Scotland.
