Ryder Cup 2025 LIVE: Europe hold off stunning late USA fightback to claim dramatic win

Strike a pose: Luke Donald and his triumphant European team celebrate with the Ryder Cup - (David Davies/PA Wire)

Ryder Cup 2025 LIVE!

Europe are celebrating a remarkable victory in the Ryder Cup in New York. Luke Donald’s side became just the fifth European team ever to win the event on American soil as they triumphed 15-13 at Bethpage Black, and the first since the famous ‘Miracle at Medinah’ in 2012.

Their historic triumph came despite a dramatic late fightback from the USA, who rallied magnificently with a record singles showing on Sunday, when Europe won only one off 11 total matches, to restore some pride after a horror first two days for Keegan Bradley’s team. But Shane Lowry eventually held his nerve on the 18th green to successfully retain the Ryder Cup for Europe, with another hard-earned half-point from Tyrrell Hatton then sealing an outright victory for the tourists.

Luke Donald joins Tony Jacklin as the only European captains ever to win the Ryder Cup both at home and away, with fans and players now all calling for him to stay in the role for a third time at Adare Manor in Ireland in 2027. Follow reaction to Europe winning the Ryder Cup live below!

It’s only their fifth-ever Ryder Cup win away and first since the famous ‘Miracle at Medinah’ in 2012.

Will he be back at Adare Manor in 2027?

He avoided the question in his TV interview on the course.
