Ryan Fitzpatrick ‘in talks’ with Amazon for broadcasting role

The NFL legend that is Ryan Fitzpatrick retired from the league on Thursday.

Fitzpatrick, 39, made his decision known with his former teammates first. The quarterback sent a message out and running back Fred Jackson, who played with Fitzpatrick during his time with the Buffalo Bills, was the first to report the news on Twitter.

Fitzpatrick suited up for nine teams in his career, spanning over 17 seasons.

But now we might be getting an 18th, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport–but it will be a much different role.

Per Rap Sheet, the charismatic Fitzpatrick might be looking into a broadcasting position with Amazon. Reportedly Fitzpatrick and the outlet have been “in talks” regarding some type of job for the 2022 season:

Next year, Amazon will begin broadcasting Thursday Night Football matchups.

If Amazon reels in Fitzpatrick, he would be joining an already strong lineup. Calling TNF games for the outlet will be a duo of Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit.

Fitzpatrick joining Amazon is not yet official but with his likeability displayed off the field at his various stops throughout his career, the update does not come as a surprise.

Stay tuned to Touchdown Wire this offseason for any updates on the quarterback potentially joining their crew.
