Roman Kemp pokes fun at Kate Garraway over her cooking skills on I'm A Celebrity

Roman Kemp teased fellow presenter Kate Garraway about her culinary skills during their time in the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

The Capital Breakfast host, 29, and Good Morning Britain anchor Kate, 55, were campmates in the 2019 series of the hit ITV programme - the last time it was last held in the Australian rainforest.

Both Roman and Kate made it to the final four to compete in the show's most popular bushtucker trial - the celebrity cyclone. Kate finished the series in fourth, with Roman in third, Coronation Street star Andy Whyment coming in second and Jacqueline Jossa being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

I'm A Celebrity returns to its spiritual home after two years at Gwrych Castle in north Wales following the coronavirus pandemic. The 22nd season of the hugely-popular show, which will be once again co-hosted live by Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in Queensland, gets underway on Sunday, November 6.

With the new series just around the corner, Roman opened up about the cooking arrangements to One Show co-host Alex Jones on Tuesday when he made a cheeky dig at Kate.

He said: "They don't allow you... you have people in the camp that you know are good cooks. We had Myles (Stephenson) from Rak-Su, and genuinely, he was unreal, I think he did MasterChef – he was an amazing cook. And they didn't let him be the cook.

"Everyone has to take turns in watching other people do like, a chore, for instance. But what then happened is, we had unfortunately, Kate Garraway, bless her."

Alex and Roman both said how much they adored Kate, before he continued: "Love her, super human. However, cooking wasn't her forte in the jungle!"

The line-up for the 2022 series was completed on Tuesday when former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was announced.

Hancock has been stripped of the Tory whip after agreeing to appear on the ITV show, as he joins the likes of Chris Moyles, Love Island star Olivia Attwood and royal Mike Tindall preparing themselves for a stint in the Australian jungle.

Hancock's addition to the star-studded line-up has already sparked controversy but the controversial politician is hoping his time camping with the likes of Boy George and Corrie actress Sue Cleaver will repair his damaged reputation.

The West Suffolk MP was forced to quit as Health Secretary in June 2021 after breaking coronavirus lockdown rules by conducting an affair in his ministerial office with aide Gina Coladangelo.

I'm A Celebrity returns to ITV at 9pm on November 6.
