"Grand Theft Auto V's" iconic story is now accessible via a GTA+ subscription, a service that Rockstar Games launched over four years ago, without any additional cost.
This means that players now get access to one of the most popular games of all time, "Grand Theft Auto V," specifically its Story Mode via the Rockstar Games paid service.
'GTA V' Story Is Now Available For Free on GTA+
According to the latest announcement from Rockstar Games, the story mode of "Grand Theft Auto V" is now part of the GTA+ games library, giving subscribers access to the full single-player campaign at no additional cost on top of their monthly fee.
The announcement was made on June 11, alongside the monthly GTA+ member update. The game typically costs around $30 to $40 USD, depending on the platform, making this a meaningful addition for anyone subscribed to the service who has not yet played the story campaign.
Rockstar also noted that GTA+ members on PC can now access "GTA Online" via the Games Library. Normally, purchasing a bundle of "Grand Theft Auto V" and "GTA Online" on PC costs around $29.99, but GTA+ subscribers can now access both without paying that added price.
Rockstar also confirmed that players can transfer their Story Mode saves and "GTA Online" progress across supported platforms.
GTA+ is a subscription service for "Grand Theft Auto Online," and its main benefits include monthly deposits of $500,000 in-game credits, along with free vehicles, discounts, and cosmetic items. Members also gain access to perks such as exclusive taxi services and complimentary CEO and VIP abilities.
Beyond its in-game rewards, GTA+ also includes access to a rotating library of iconic Rockstar games, and that library has now expanded with the addition of "Grand Theft Auto V."

Alongside the story mode addition, Rockstar is also giving GTA+ members a free vehicle this cycle. The Ocelot Stromberg performs double duty as a weaponized retro sports car and tactical submersible. This multipurpose vehicle is free for all GTA+ members at The Vinewood Car Club showroom through July 13.
The full list of June GTA+ member benefits also includes Teal and Purple Flip Chameleon Paint, Wheel Paint, a Feud Baseball Jersey, Independence Day-themed apparel, a 60% discount on Hangars, double rewards from Smuggler Sell Missions, double rewards from Know Way Out, and a 5x increase on Hidden G's Cache rewards.
Rockstar Games Expands GTA+ Subscription
The GTA+ games library now holds a solid lineup of Rockstar titles. Members currently have access to "Red Dead Redemption," "L.A. Noire," "Bully," "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy," "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: The Definitive Edition," "Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition," "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories," and "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" for mobile.
"Grand Theft Auto V" and "GTA Online" are the newest additions to that roster.
GTA+ costs $7.99 per month and is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The service has been gradually building out its games library since launching in 2022, and the addition of "Grand Theft Auto V" story mode is its biggest library drop to date ahead of "Grand Theft Auto VI" launching this November.
