Rangers youngster Alex Lowry completes Hearts loan move

Rangers starlet Alex Lowry has completed a loan switch to Hearts.

The Scotland under-21 ace has agreed a season-long loan to Tynecastle.

Rangers hold the option to recall Lowry in January as part of the deal.

The midfielder could be thrown straight into first-team action this weekend with Steven Naismith insisting the plan is to join the team immediately.

We exclusively revealed Lowry would head out on loan to Tynecastle to seek first team game time away from Ibrox.

Hearts head coach Frankie McAvoy said: “The opportunity to bring Alex in came around quickly and we’re delighted to get it done.

“He’s a very highly regarded prospect with good experience in Rangers’ first team.

“He’ll bring a spark and energy to the middle of the pitch and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

Technical director Steven Naismith added: “Alex will be a great addition to our squad, which is really starting to take shape.

“He’s a very technical player and is direct in terms of attacking, so he will compliment the team well in the final third.

“Being a Scottish player he has a great understanding of this club and he’s already experienced playing at Tynecastle, so knows exactly what to expect.

“If everything goes to plan then he’ll be involved with the group straightaway.”

And sporting director Joe Savage said: “We’ve managed to get this deal done very quickly so I have to thank everyone involved for their efforts.

“We cast the net far and wide when comes to identifying talent so for a quality player to become available on your doorstep was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“I’m sure the fans will take to Alex, given his attacking ability and I’m looking forward to watching him light up Tynecastle.”

A Rangers post on social media confirmed: "Alex Lowry has today joined @JamTarts  on a season-long loan deal, with Rangers having the option to recall in January.

"Good luck, @Alexlowry101."
