Rangers transfer news latest as Besiktas 'offer' Glen Kamara exit route and Jose Cifuentes returns on historic MLS night

Besiktas are set to offer forgotten Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara an escape route out of Ibrox but only on loan as Jose Cifuentes returned to action for LAFC ahead of his proposed move to Glasgow.

Finnish international midfielder Kamara seems certain to leave Rangers this summer after falling out of manager Michael Beale's plans. Kamara even lost his starting slot in the Finland team for their Euro 2024 qualifier against Slovenia after manager Markku Kanerva explained he couldn't start him because of his lack of game time with Rangers.

Since Kamara was included in the Rangers line-up for the League Cup Final defeat to Celtic in February, the former Arsenal and Dundee player started just one league game - a dead rubber 2-2 draw with Hearts at the end of the season. Now reports in Turkey have indicated that Besiktas will make an approach to sign the 27-year-old on loan, rather than make a bid for Kamara. Besiktas finished third last season and want to make a push for the title, which they last won two years ago. And manager Senol Gunes wants to see if Rangers can be persuaded to allow Kamara on loan, with the player still having two years left of his Rangers contract.

Meanwhile, Ecuadorian Cifuentes came off the bench at half time in his side’s MLS derby loss to LA Galaxy. The 24-year-old is in the final six months of his deal with the American outfit but was mysteriously left out of the squad at the weekend. But he returned in front of an MLS record crowd of 82,110 at the Rose Bowl although he couldn’t prevent a 2-1 defeat in the LA derby fixture known as El Trafico.

Beale continues to pursue Feyenoord star Danilo with the player desperate to move to Ibrox but there could be other exits along with the likes of Kamara and Record Sport exclusively revealed how fringe man Scott Wright is a target for old boss Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia.
