Rangers-linked defender makes transfer admission after direct Ibrox poser

Rangers-linked defender Hampus Skoglund has refused to say whether the Ibrox club made him an offer.

The Hammarby right back looked set to move to Rangers at the end of last season when Danny Rohl was still manager as a replacement for their departed captain James Tavernier.

Hammarby sports director Mikael Hjelmberg revealed they were desperate to keep the £2 million-rated, 22-year-old defender.

And, quizzed about Rangers' interest, Skoglund kept his cards close to his chest.

He said: "Rangers? You can take that one up with my agent.

"At the moment I am just concentrating on Hammarby.

"There was also talk of a move for me to Girona in La Liga last year, but I haven't heard anything from them.

"I have no idea whether I will stay at Hammarby during this transfer window.

"My agent is in charge of that side of it, I leave it to him. I'm just focusing on the here and now."
