Rishi Sunak has been fined for not wearing a seatbelt in a moving car.
The Prime Minister has been issued with a “conditional offer of fixed penalty” by Lancashire Constabulary after he filmed himself in a social media clip in the back of a vehicle.
The police service said that it would "look into" a video of Mr Sunak not wearing a seatbelt in a moving car last night.
It came after the PM was forced into an embarrassing apology.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister, who posted the clip on social media, said it "was a brief error of judgement".
He said: "He accepts it as mistake. And as I say, he apologises for it.
"The Prime Minister believes everyone should wear a seatbelt and once again, I think I've made clear that there was an error or judgment. He removed it for a short period of time to film a clip which you've seen but he accepts that's a mistake."
Mr Sunak uploaded the video to his official Instagram account, which has 1.3million followers.
