Popular Kilmarnock cafe reopens for takeaway with social distancing in place

A popular Kilmarnock cafe has reopened its doors today.

With eight weeks of lockdown now under the belt, a number of fast-food restaurants and cafes are reopening for takeaway.

The latest is the Cook School cafe at Moorfield North Industrial Park.

And the business has introduced strict social distancing measures with a one-way system in place.

The cafe's Facebook page said: "We are pleased to announce that our shop and takeaway will be reopening next week, seven days a week, from 8am to 4pm.

"Our cafe will remain closed for sit in, we are offering takeaway only.

"Here's what we are doing to protect staff and customers: A one-way system will be in place, please enter via The Cook School entrance at the end of the building and exit as directed through the normal cafe/takeaway entrance.

"Customers will be asked to wait outside and called forward when their order is ready.

"Floor markings will be in place to ensure customers maintain a safe two-metre distance from each other. Our toilets will be out of use.

"Staff will be wearing face masks to protect themselves and customers.

"We will be accepting card payments only, no cash."
