Police release photo of man they want to speak to after reports of 'serious sexual assault' in city centre

Police are appealing for information following reports of a 'serious sexual assault at a premises in Manchester city centre'.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have issued an image of a man they want to speak to as they 'take these reports extremely seriously'.

The alleged incident occurred in Tariff Street, at around 10pm on Thursday, June 8 2023, said the force. Investigations are underway and police are supporting the victim, officers say.

GMP says officers believe the man in the photo 'could help with their enquiries'. A spokesperson for GMP's City of Manchester district, said: "We take these kind of reports extremely seriously and I would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch with us.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we are ensuring that the appropriate support is in place for the victim."

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, quoting log number 4622 of 08/06/23. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
