Peter Kay fans conned out of nearly £400 after buying tickets on bogus website

Peter Kay fans were conned out of nearly £400 by a website purporting to sell tickets for the comedian's sell-out comeback tour. They said they paid the money through www.peterkaytickets.com and were set to see this weekend's show in Liverpool.

However the tickets failed to materialise and the website is no longer available. Emails to ‘customer services’ at the site have also been returned unopened saying the address is no longer in use.

Andy Morgan said his friend purchased the tickets "in good faith". He said he has contacted Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena to make them aware of the situation, the MEN reports.

When the Local Democracy Reporting Service tried to access www.peterkaytickets.com an error message was encountered saying the site could not be found.

Mr Morgan, a cabinet member on Bolton Council, said: "I’m really disappointed that we have been scammed for Peter Kay tickets for Saturday. A very good friend of ours bought us some tickets for Saturday at Liverpool and they have not arrived.

"The website (www.peterkaytickets.com) is now saying ‘this site cannot be reached’ and the customer service email keeps bouncing back saying ‘undelivered’. They were supposedly very good seats close to the stage and we’re now £380 out of pocket.

"It’s a bloody disgrace but you live and learn. Like many people in Bolton, we’re extremely proud of what Peter has achieved and were so looking forward to seeing him on his comeback tour."

Kay's current run ‘Better Late Than Never’ shows has around 120 dates listed up to 2025. Tickets for the shows are available from the Ticketmaster and See Tickets websites. It is the comedian's first UK tour for 12 years.
