The Green Bay Packers are exploring the trade market for help at wide receiver.
According to Bill Huber of SI.com, there’s an “expectation” that the Packers will be buyers and eventually make a deal for a wide receiver before Tuesday’s deadline.
The Packers need a spark on offense, and wide receiver – where injuries have hit hard in the post-Davante Adams era – is the obvious point of upgrade.
Huber’s source thought Pittsburgh’s Chase Claypool, Denver’s Jerry Jeudy and Houston Brandin Cooks could be realistic options.
It appears trade discussions between the Packers and teams willing to deal at wide receiver are still a work in progress.
From the reporter crew at NFL Network: “The Packers have held talks about acquiring a receiver, sources say, but nothing has transpired as of yet. GM Brian Gutekunst will keep talking, and time will tell if they can come to a deal — which has been a rarity for Green Bay.”
Claypool, Cooks, Jeudy, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor are all believed to be available for the right price.
