Nottingham Forest set Brennan Johnson price tag as Aston Villa and Brentford circle

Nottingham Forest have set a heavy price tag for Brennan Johnson amid transfer interest from fellow Premier League clubs.

The 22-year-old impressed during Forest's first season back in the top-flight, catching the eye of Aston Villa and Brentford. Johnson scored eight goals and assisted three times in 38 appearances during the 2022/23 season.

His form over the last 18 months has caught the eye of Brentford, who bid £30million for his services earlier this month. However, Forest are keen to keep hold of the Reds academy graduate and have set a high price tag.

According to The Sun, Forest have valued the Welshman at £60million, in an attempt to "put off" the Bees and Villans.

Former Reds striker Nigel Jemson believes the 22-year-old should only leave the City Ground for a top-six club. "Brennan's a great player and he's had a terrific season," he told the Garibaldi Red podcast.

"He's got huge potential. Everyone has a price. I don't know what that is from the football club's point of view. I see Brentford as a sideways step. He's got his family here, he's adored here. He's got to be looking at top six or seven club or there's no point in going.

"He's at a club moving forwards with a good manager. He's playing for Wales. He's got to have another season at least here before he thinks about going, unless the club gets an offer they would take to put back into the squad."
