Nottingham Forest sent clear transfer message as Olympiacos 'consider' deal

Nottingham Forest supporters are not exactly surprised by the prospect of summer signing Harry Toffolo being linked with a move away during the January transfer window to join Olympiacos.

The perennial champions of Greece, who are also owned by Evangelos Marinakis, are being credited with an interest in the left-back ahead of the January transfer window opening on New Year's Day. Toffolo, 27, has played just nine matches for the Reds since signing from Huddersfield Town after missing almost half a dozen games with a hamstring injury before the Premier League season paused for the World Cup.

Some Forest fans weren't even sure why the signing was made in the first place. Here is a selection of the reaction from our Nottingham Forest News page on Facebook to these reports.

Gary P: I think he is a step below the Premier League.

Stephen Bower: Absolutely not. Should be our first choice left-back

Louis Jennings: I wonder if Toffolo will agree to this.

Paul Bancroft: Ridiculous purchase in the first place.

Paul Blake: Would only make sense if Omar Richards was close to returning.

James Robinson: I may get shot down by some, but I'd rather have Toffolo over Lodi.

Dan Waldron: Can't see it. We will need a left-back when Lodi goes back. He will do well in the Championship!
