Forest told defender's price tag

Nottingham Forest are said to be facing competition for Stuttgart defender Konstantinos Mavropanos as they look to strengthen their squad.

A bid of 10 million euros (£8.5m) was previously reported as being in the offing by the Reds. But it seems interest in the centre-back has only increased as the transfer window has progressed.

West Ham United had previously been credited with an interest.

Fresh bid for winger

Nottingham Forest are preparing to make another offer for Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu, it has been claimed.

Forest saw an initial bid of €11million (£9.5m) for the Turkey international rejected this week. The bid was deemed "very low" by the Super Lig outfit, reports in Turkey claimed.

However, the Reds are not willing to give up on the 24-year-old who is open to the idea of playing in the English top-flight. It is said Akturkoglu "wants to go" to the Premier League but "respects" Galatasaray's decision to reject Forest's offer.
