New tenants sought for Nottingham pub 'with charm' by canal

New tenants are being sought for a pub situated next to the canal in Nottingham city centre. Stonegate Group is advertising for a publican to take over at Fellows Morton & Clayton in Canal Street, which has a guide rent price of £654 a week.

The site was once offices to Britain’s largest 19th century canal freight operator and became a pub in the 1980s. According to a listing on Stonegate's website, the business has a potential turnover of £533,000.

The pub is said to be in a great location for heavy footfall, with a function room that has capacity for 30 people. Its bar is described as having "plenty of character and charm".

"With a combination of great beers, an all-day food menu, sport on the televisions and live music, there's something for everyone, from ale drinkers and students to office workers, shoppers and dog walkers," reads the website.

A spokesperson for Stonegate Pub Partners said: “We are actively recruiting for a pub partner to manage this pub on a tenancy agreement. For more information, please visit www.stonegatepubpartners.co.uk/find-a-pub/fellows-morton-&-clayton_024463.”

Its fixtures and fittings are listed at £29,000, with a capital start-up figure of £18,500. Applying publicans must be "food experienced".
