NAVI outlast PARIVISION to make BLAST Open Rotterdam Finals

Just weeks after lifting the ESL Pro League Season 23 trophy, NAVI are headed to another Grand Finals after taking down PARIVISION in the BLAST Open Rotterdam playoffs. A trophy lift remains unlikely, as Vitality await them on stage but, as Andrii “B1ad3” Horodenskyi said in his post-match interview, it wouldn’t be the first era NAVI ended.

Dust2 – w0nderful dominates PARIVISION – 13-11

Jame stated things off on Dust2 with a bamboozling play, splitting into B, before rerouting onto the A site for a 2v1 win. PARIVISION had the chance to build a sizeable advantage off the back of that win, but they ran into the Deagle of Makazze on the B site, who toppled three to stop the momentum. The Kosovar star was immediately back into he fray in the following round, combining with w0nderful for two-a-piece, giving NAVI an early lead.

Both AWPs found mid-picks in round seven, but Jame called his troops into A from short, giving PARIVISION another round. With the stars giving NAVI every opening kill that Aleksib could ask for, the international side closed the half with a 7-5 lead. Jame himself brought the reinforcements to B in the second pistol, taking down two, and setting up zweih in a 1v1 clutch, which the rifler dutifully won.

That allowed the scoreline to be tied before NAVI could bring their first gun round out. With rifles though, NAVI were surgical, taking the A site in back to back rounds. While Makazze and w0nderful still kept their grasp on the top of the leaderboard, iM and b1t were now joining them there, with the Romanian finding a massive triple to close round 16. With the economy secured, and stars shining bright, NAVI charged ahead to matchpoint.

PARIVISION, true to form, then roared alive with their backs against the wall as Jame and BELCHONOKK both put up impactful frags. The comeback looked well and truly complete, when in round 24 NAVI brought just a set of five AK-47s and a couple of grenades to go with it. But Makazze once again proved instrumental, finding two kills into the B site to close out the map 13-11.

Inferno – Jame’s CT stacks shut down NAVI – 13-8

PARIVISION once again started off with a pistol round win, this time with xiELO dropping four CTs on their Banana retake attempt. Unfortunately, b1t hit two pixel-perfect headshots with his Deagle on the force a save out of Jame. That gave NAVI a 4-1 lead as the Ts grappled with their finances. Aleksib’s mastery of the HE Grenades was coming in handy, as the IGL found dozens of util damage round after round.

Unfortunately NAVI were unable to convert any of it into a round win against the rifles, allowing PARIVISION to win the half with 7 rounds on the board. NAVI’s T side replied with back to back B-site breaks, but the international side was unable to break away from their opponents early in the half. Jame’s reads were piling the pressure onto NAVI, and Aleksib could find no answer. Wherever the team went, they ran into three or more defenders, shutting their attacks down. With Jame leading the charge individually as well, PARIVISION closed the map out 13-8.

Mirage – NAVI’s CT wall built on Makazze’s brilliance – 13-7

NAVI needed a reset when they moved onto Mirage, and the pistol round proved the perfect opportunity. Makazze and w0nderful each took two kills, making the Rotterdam crowd roar in approval. The B site kept being Jame’s port of call, but NAVI maintained control throughout, denying every clutch. With smiles across the board, the international side found their most dominant self, with Makazze picking up 19 kills for an 11-1 half.

PARIVISION did get the crucial pistol round win under their belt, but even their anti-force looked unimpressive, losing three defenders on A. Guns came online for NAVI in round fifteen and the team quickly locked in matchpoint. Makazze even had the opportunity to close the map out there and then, but Jame barely held onto his fourth round win. Despite his best attempts though, the T side had simply been too weak to save, and NAVI closed the map out 13-7.
