Morrisons recalls 'Fire' candle over 'uncontrolled' flame risk

Morrisons has recalled its 'Fire' candle over the risk that it could burn in an "uncontrolled manner". The candle is from the Elements Scented Tin Candles line, and is named after the four elements - Fire, Water, Earth and Air.

But a product recall notice has been issued to customers who have bought any of the four candles. The notice on the supermarket's website says: "Morrisons is recalling these products because there is a risk that some candles may burn in an uncontrolled manner presenting a fire risk."

Customers are urged not to burn the candles, and instead to return them to your nearest Morrisons store. You will be given a full refund without any need for a receipt.

The notice adds that no other candles are affected by the recall, and continues: "We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."

In other product recall news, a warning notice has been sent out about a children's watch sold by Smiggle because it presents a "choking and chemical risk". Customers are being urged to return the Fun Character Slapband Watch because the button battery compartment of the product "may not be adequately secured and the button battery may be accessible."

Button batteries can cause serious or fatal injuries if they are swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, and the battery also presents a choking hazard.
