Michael McCrudden joins Coleraine on two-year deal as Oran Kearney finally gets his man

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney joked that it was third time lucky after finally securing the signature of Michael McCrudden.

The Bannsiders have confirmed that McCrudden has joined the club on a two-year deal.

The striker arrives for an undisclosed fee from Cliftonville and forms part of a double signing from the Reds following the arrival of defender Conor McDermott last week.

The 31-year-old - who started his career with Newcastle United - has also had spells with Ballinamallard United, Institute and Derry City.

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney said: “I’ve joked with him that it’s the third time I’ve tried to sign him but thankfully we have got this one over the line.

“Even with the training sessions he has completed, his quality is there for all to see and I think he will be a very good player for us.

“It is going to take a few weeks to get him up to speed, it won’t be a mad rush but with every week and month that passes he will be sharper and sharper.

“We are delighted that Michael is here and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Coleraine also confirmed that McCrudden will wear the number 10 shirt next season.
