Meslier's unlikely advisor, Leeds United supporters' Toney taunts and moments you missed

Kristensen’s compatriots

If you were to handpick a Premier League side where Rasmus Kristensen might have some opposition friends to talk to it would be Brentford, where links with Denmark are long-established. Thomas Frank and Mathias Jorgenson were seen chatting to the Leeds right-back out on the pitch after their arrivals.

Meslier’s unlikely advisor

As the players came out for the start of the second half, Illan Meslier was getting some advice from an unlikely source. There is not much you would expect a striker to be able to tell a goalkeeper after a first half which did not require many shots to be saved.

Either way, Patrick Bamford was talking animatedly with the number one as they came down the tunnel, gesturing as they walked.

Rutter’s warm welcome

As is customary, United’s latest new signing was given a very warm welcome by the home faithful on his trot out down the touchline. Georginio Rutter was named among the substitutes, but when he did come out for a warm-up in front of the John Charles Stand there was generous applause.

Toney’s inevitable ribbing

It took a long time in coming on Sunday afternoon, but Ivan Toney, whose been in the headlines for all the right and wrong reasons this season, got rinsed by the Leeds faithful. Toney has been charged with more than 250 alleged breaches of betting rules by The Football Association.

That’s food and drink for vocal opposition supporters. “Toney, what’s the odds?” was the opening number deep into the second period and once the striker went into the book for a foul we soon heard “Got a tenner on a yellow card.”
