Manchester United vs Arsenal ticket prices confirmed for US tour friendly as pre-sale opens

Manchester United supporters are now able to purchase tickets for their friendly with Arsenal after the pre-sale opened on Tuesday.

The Reds announced the Gunners as their third opponents for their summer tour last week. Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also on the schedule as well as National League side Wrexham although it is expected Erik ten Hag will field a youthful side for the latter match. United have one more fixture to confirm for their American trip.

United take on Arsenal at New York's 82,500 capacity MetLife Stadium on Saturday, July 22 at 5pm local time, 10pm in the UK. Fans who registered for the pre-sale received their code to enter the Ticketmaster website on Tuesday morning. Once there, United supporters discovered the cheapest available seats will set them back $131 or £104.97.

The majority of tickets are priced at $256 (£205.02). However, if you wish to be as close to the action as possible, limited availability remains in the 'on-field' seating section priced at a whopping $1,506 (£1206.07.) Tickets go on general sale from Thursday. Earlier this year, supporters hit out at United for the cost of friendly tickets and there criticism was rife after similar prices were announced for the Wrexham game.

After announcing the friendly against their Premier League rivals, football director John Murtough said: "Manchester United versus Arsenal is one the most famous and anticipated fixtures in the English football calendar and supporters from both clubs understand how big the rivalry between the two sides is. It’s great to be able to bring this match to New York and play in front of what I am sure will be a sell-out crowd.

"I know Erik and the squad are looking forward to starting their pre-season preparations in New York and utilising the great sporting facilities available to us in the city. The last time United played in New York was in 2011, so we are excited to be returning after such a long wait. There is no better location to kick start the Club’s Tour 23."
