MUMBAI: A 21-year-old man, identified as Prakash Jha, reportedly took his own life by hanging from the ceiling fan at his residence in the western suburb of Kandivali in Mumbai.
The incident occurred late on Saturday night in the Poisar locality, as per officials from the Samta Nagar police station.
Jha, who was unemployed, had been grappling with depression since the untimely death of his brother in a road accident, according to the police. The tragic incident unfolded while Jha's parents were away, and it was a neighbor who discovered his lifeless body.
In connection with the incident, an accidental death report has been filed, as confirmed by the police official.
