Man who sparked Christmas Eve missing person search found safe and well

Police are growing concerned for the well-being of a man who has been reported missing in Irvine.

William Dunne was last seen at around 2.40pm on Saturday December 24 at Burns Crescent in the Ayrshire town.

The 47-year-old was seen walking in the direction of West Bowhouse Way but has failed to make contact with his worried family since.

He is described as being approximately 5ft 4in tall, has shaved black hair and a beard.

William is known to wear glasses and had a grey puffer-style jacket on with blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

Sergeant Carswell of Irvine Police Office said: “Along with William’s family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for his well-being and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him or can help with our enquiries to please come forward.”

“If you can assist our efforts to trace him, please call police on 101 quoting incident 2006 of the 24th December 2022.”
