A MAN has been arrested and charged following a serious crash which left a teenage girl in hospital in Musselburgh.
Emergency services were called to a report of a crash at around 4.15pm on Friday on Haddington Road, Musselburgh.
Police said a 17-year-old female was injured and was taken to hospital, where her condition was described as “critical”.
A 37-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The road was closed following the crash while investigations were carried out and has since reopened.
Sergeant Dominic Doyle said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would ask anyone who has yet to speak to us to get in touch.
