Ex-Celtic loan star Marcelo Saracchi's move to the MLS has collapsed after Boca Juniors rejected Houston Dynamo's offer.

The Uruguayan full-back looked certain to quit the Argentinian giants and move to the USA after he was slapped on the transfer list and treated as an outcast at the club.

But he's back in football limbo after Houston Dynamo pulled the plug on the deal because Boca told them they weren't interested in their offer of £900,000 for 60 per cent of the player's rights.

Boca want at least £1.5 million for Saracchi - which is what they paid Spanish club Levante for him three years ago.

The 28-year-old helped Celtic to an unexpected league and cup double last term before he returned to Argentina.

He made clear in a social media message to Celtic fans, he would have loved to have stayed in Glasgow, but no agreement was reached.

And despite reported interest from other European clubs, he appears no nearer to an exit from Boca Juniors.
