MUMBAI: The upcoming budget session of the Maharashtra legislature will begin from March 3 till March 25 in Mumbai. The state budget for 2022-23 to be tabled on March 11.
The dates were finalised in a meeting of the business advisory committee consisting of representatives of all the parties on Tuesday. Since the pandemic began in 2020, this may be the first full term of the legislature. Previously all the sessions have been held in a limited manner due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state. An RT-PCR negative report as well as double vaccination status is mandatory for everyone attending the sessions.
Earlier, a discussion was held to host the budget session in Nagpur but due to lack of facilities like no central hall for the governor's address and the MLA hostel is being used as a Covid care centre.
"Once again the anti-Vidarbha face of the government was exposed today. They merely announced after the winter session in December that the budget session will be held in Nagpur, but they never intended to hold it there," said Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis .
