MAFS UK star Adrian Sanderson unrecognisable after undergoing drastic hair transplant

MAFS UK star Adrian has revealed that he has undergone hair transplant after admitting his famous 'Captain Curtains' hairstyle was to hide his receding hairline.

Adrian Sanderson’s now ex-husband Thomas caused quite a stir when comparing him to H from Steps during last year’s series of Married at First Sight, but now the star has opened up on his decision to have a hair transplant to fix one of his 'biggest insecurities'.

It’s no secret that Adrian and Thomas had many ups and downs throughout the series, with Thomas’ 'Captain Curtains' comment becoming one of the show’s most memorable moments.

But despite Adrian’s 90’s boyband hairstyle gaining a ton of attention on the show, little did MAFS UK fans know there was a very real reason behind his famous curtains.

Despite not addressing it at the time, Adrian has now decided to open up on his decision to have a hair transplant procedure in the hopes of fixing his receding hairline.

Adrian did a lot of research online and opted for KSL Clinic to carry out the procedure after seeing the results of previous celebrity patients including Made in Chelsea’s Digby Edgley and I’m a Celebrity star Jake Quickenden.

In the capable hands of leading hair transplant surgeon Dr Matee Rajput, the procedure took place at KSL’s Manchester clinic and consisted of 2100 hair follicle grafts.

Adrian is now three weeks post-op and will soon start a course of PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment to support his newly transplanted hairline.

PRP uses our own blood plasma to help promote hair growth and became a popular treatment following Kim Kardashians famous vampire facial. This will speed up the hair transplant process which usually takes around 12 to 18 months before seeing the final results and will ensure the best results possible for Adrian’s procedure.

Speaking about his decision to have the hair transplant procedure, Adrian said: “The reason I had curtains on Married at First Sight is because they were hiding my receding hairline. I pull them down so I’m not exposing the hairline at certain angles.”

“A lot of people may think ‘why is he getting a hair transplant?’ I’m a person generally considered to have a good head of hair. But I do style for that, to conceal those receding areas. My hair is my security blanket, and I would like to maintain that. It’s been one of my biggest insecurities.”

“I definitely felt nervous during the procedure, mostly for the injections at the beginning, but other than that I enjoyed a day of lying down, watching TV and winding up the nurses.”

“I would love to be able to style my hair wet, in a slicked-back classic gents look, but I’ve not been able to do that because of the receding.”

“We all love to be in control of our own Instagram ’s and our own TikTok’s – we’re able to choose and control the photos we share online. But being in the public eye, unfortunately I’m not always the person that chooses them, or even necessarily knows they’re being taken, so that’s made me much more conscious of my hairline.”

“It was Digby’s transplant that made me come to KSL Clinics. I thought, he knows what he’s doing, I’ll follow in his footsteps."
