Ahead of his move to Rangers this summer, Lyall Cameron has reflected on the challenge of playing for Dundee when everyone knew he was Ibrox-bound.
It was announced in January the goalscoring midfielder had signed a pre-contract to head to Glasgow at the end of the season, with his Dens Park contract up.
The news stung Dee fans as they lost one of their own and a key player and the 22-year-old came in for a bit of flak.
His form suffered and he also happened to miss games against Rangers through injury, which heaped more questions on him from the support.
But Cameron signed out in style at the weekend by scoring a double to ensure Dundee didn't slide into the relegation play-off and keep his legacy intact.
Reflecting on a difficult period, he said: “It wasn’t the easiest time when I announced I was leaving. Fair enough, I got an awful lot of criticism from that and had to take that on.

“I felt there was a lot of apprehension over whether I was still committed to the club.
“Some people doubted that, but I always said that I was. And I have been right to the end.
"Every time a Rangers game came around, I happened to be injured. But that was the case and it was just unfortunate. I got flak for that.
“However, you just have to keep going. I’ve actually played a lot of times through niggles and tightness.
“Maybe in my position I shouldn’t have. But the type of person I am, I just want to always give my best for the club that’s supported me for the last few years.
“Dundee have been good to me and I’m glad I’ve been able to give them that.
“I probably felt I was trying too hard to prove it for a while. That’s why I had a wee dip in my form. It affected how I like to play.”
Cameron ensured he will be playing against Dundee next season by keeping them in the top flight. And he hopes he will be afforded a good reception as a result.
“I’ve finished the way I wanted to and I’m absolutely delighted,” he added.
“I’ve been relaxed, getting on the ball, scoring and assisting in the last couple of weeks.
“Obviously, I can’t wait for what’s coming. I feel like it’s a new challenge and it’s not going to be easy.
“I live at home just now, so there’s that. Then obviously my family and friends.
“It’s a new challenge; you need to move on in your career and I’ve just made that decision. I’m looking forward to getting started.
“We’ve made sure I’ll be playing AGAINST Dundee next season. Hopefully I’ll get a good reception after the way I’ve signed off!”
