Loose Women's Jane Moore gives assurances after alarming video leaves panel panic stricken

Jane Moore stepped into assure her Loose Women colleagues and viewers at home after a frightening video was shown on Wednesday's show.

Hours after the same clip sparked concern from presenter Susanna Reid when it was used on Good Morning Britain, the video showing a little boy disappearing down a drain as he was on a walk with his mum, sparked an even more extreme reaction on the ITV lunchtime programme.

The clip, showing toddler Theo and mum Amy, was used on Loose Women to kick off a discussion on how good panellists Coleen Nolan, Gloria Hunniford and Linda Robson would be in an emergency and as they watched it, all three women put their hands to their mouths, with Coleen reacting: "oh no," before Gloria, witnessing the moment Theo fell in, responding: "Oh my goodness!"

As the video came to an end with Theo being pulled out and picking up on the panic amongst her colleagues, Wednesday's host Jane told them and alarmed viewers at home: "She's literally fished him out. Complete mother's instinct. Now the little boy he's called Theo, thankfully he didn't suffer from any serious injuries. But it does make you think Col, in an emergency with kids, would you be as clear headed as that?"

Coleen replied: "The thing is it's not being clear headed is it? It's absolute instinct and no thought for you own safety, or whether they could have both lost their lives in that instance. Thank god she jumped in and did safe his life." She added: "I think, when it comes to mother's instinct, I would jump into burning flames if I thought my kids were going to suffer; even now that they're adults. My natural instinct, I wouldn't even think about the danger, I'd just be straight in there."

Amy and Theo both appeared on GMB earlier in the day, when Amy recalled what happened on the short walk that went horribly wrong. She explained: "He was at the bottom standing in sewage up to his knees. He was screaming my name, absolutely screaming my name, The hole was so tight, I couldn't bend my body forward to grab him."
