Liverpool line-up confirmed as Jurgen Klopp goes strong but new signings on bench vs RB Leipzig

Jurgen Klopp has named a strong line-up that includes Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool are hosted by RB Leipzig.

The Reds flew out with a 31-man squad for their games with Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg over the next week and Klopp has named a powerful starting XI as they go in search of their second win from three pre-season games this summer.

Van Dijk is in the back four alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson as Adrian deputises for the injured Alisson Becker in goal.

In midfield, Thiago Alcantara starts alongside Fabinho and Naby Keita as Jordan Henderson, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and James Milner are selected as part of the substitutes at the Red Bull Arena.

Salah is named in the front three with Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino as Liverpool take their pre-season preparations up a notch after a recent tour of Thailand and Singapore where they met Manchester United and Crystal Palace, respectively.

Darwin Nunez is part of the bench alongside fellow new signing Fabio Carvalho, although there's no place for 18-year-old Calvin Ramsay, despite flying out with the contingent on Thursday.

Liverpool have included Kaide Gordon in their 31-man contingent for the week but have left Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Diogo Jota on Merseyside as they work on recovering from injuries picked up on tour last week.

Liverpool: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Keita; Diaz, Salah, Firmino

Subs: Hughes, Davies, Milner, Gomez, Henderson, Jones, Elliott, Tsimikas, Nunez, Carvalho, Matip, Bajcetic, Phillips, Mabaya, Van den Berg, Morton.
