Liverpool fans had Moises Caicedo transfer theory following Arthur Melo social media activity

Liverpool supporters have picked up on activity from Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo on social media following the loan arrival of Arthur Melo.

The Reds have wrapped up a deal for the former Barcelona man this evening, who has agreed to leave Juventus temporarily to represent Jurgen Klopp's side for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. Official confirmation has just arrived, though Liverpool fans have been dreaming of a possible second transfer announcement.

The reason for this relates to the actions of Caicedo, who has also been linked with Liverpool during the current transfer window. In addition to liking Arthur's Instagram post all but confirming his loan exit, many fans noticed a connection between the Ecuadorian and a number of the Reds' first-team squad on the social media platform. Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk are all being followed by the 20-year-old on Instagram, fuelling talk of a late move.

“I think you’d probably get his boots for that from the chairman maybe, knowing the chairman,” Potter said. “It’s not for me to talk about. It is what it is.”

When asked if Liverpool would have to be closer to £100million, Potter replied: “Yeah, well, they can try.”
