Leeds United supporters hail 'strong' choices for Leeds United XI against Manchester United

Leeds United supporters are excited for Michael Skubala's 'strong team' as the interim Whites boss hands Weston McKennie his Premier League debut ahead of their clash against Manchester United tonight.

Skubala has taken over duties in the Whites dugout after Jesse Marsch was sacked on Monday afternoon following the 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest over the weekend which has left the Whites in 17th - only above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Illan Meslier has retained his place in between the sticks while Luke Ayling, Pascal Struijk, and Max Wober line-up ahead of him while Robin Koch returns from suspension to pair up with Struijk.

McKennie, Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams will make up the midfield while Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto lead the line up front.

Joel Robles, Junior Firpo, Rasmus Kristensen, Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood, Brenden Aaronson, Crysencio Summerville, Mateo Joseph and Georginio Rutter all make up the rest of the bench.

Fans took to social media to discuss the line-up, with many delighted that McKennie is now getting his first Premier League start as a Leeds player.

One fan wrote: "Excited to see McKennie & Adams from the off!", while another said: "This Adams and McKennie pivot will cook".

A third said: "Strong team, plenty on the bench to call on. I'm stupid for being optimistic aren't I?", while another wrote: "Firpo & Kristensen instead of Struijk & Ayling was the way forward for tonight. I like the forward line".

Another questioned Marc Roca's absence in the matchday squad as they wrote: "Lot of comments about Roca not being present. Wonder if that's an injury or just the 'rotation' that was spoken about before the last game. Isn't that the point of a larger squad.

"Given he has struggled a bit to last 90 mins, perhaps he is just being rested for Sunday."
