Lanarkshire hair stylists prep film stars for red carpet at BAFTA Scotland Awards

Lanarkshire hair stylists were called up to prep some of Scotland's most renowned TV and film stars for the red carpet.

Local salon group Rainbow Room International, which has a shop in Uddingston, were tasked with styling the hair for celebrities at the BAFTA Scotland Awards 2022 last month.

They were delighted to be asked to tend the tresses of the actors and actresses about to attended the awards ceremony.

Held this year at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, The BAFTA Scotland Awards honour excellence and celebrate talent across film, games and television in Scotland.

Sleek styles were one of the key looks of the night with Shanden Russell, assistant at the Uddingston salon, styling actress Hayley Squires hair straight and smooth, tucked behind the ears for further glamour.

Hair was also styled for celebs including Radio DJ, Arielle Free, whereby art director at the Clarkston salon, Adele Quinn, styled her hair into gorgeous glossy waves, and actress Julia Brown who Alexandra McBurnie, stylist at the Great Western Road salon styled the hair of, creating a low, sleek pony with a middle parting.

Actress Lois Chimimba’s hair was styled into a voluminous up-do with hair pieces left out for a soft, romantic look by Brogan Connolly, Master Hair Designer at Bearsden.

And actor and nominee, Jack Lowden had his hair styled by Archie Lam, Fast Track at Howard Street into a modern, side parted and slick style.

Andrew Donaldson, director of the Rainbow Room International, told Lanarkshire Live : “It was great to be back at The BAFTA Scotland Awards this year styling the hair for the stars and the BAFTA team.

"We are so honoured that our salon group is asked to work backstage at major Scottish events like this, the team always have an incredible time and it’s such a great experience for them.”
