Khloe Kardashian was ‘on my knees screaming’ as paranoid ex Lamar Odom destroyed ‘years’ of her life

Khloé Kardashian just revealed for the first time that her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, burned all of her personal journals right in front of her, destroying years of her life. The 41-year-old reality star shared the incredibly challenging memory from her marriage on a recent episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land.

This is a truly heartbreaking story, and honestly, I can’t imagine the pain of watching something so personal turn to ash. Kardashian confessed that she hasn’t kept a journal since the incident and said that the journals meant so much to her because they memorialized years of her life, the good she’s done, and her thoughts on obstacles she’s gone through.

Recalling the devastating incident, Kardashian said she was “sobbing” as Odom threw the dozens of books into a fire. She even claimed she was “on my knees screaming” while the destruction happened. What made the situation particularly painful was Odom’s state of mind at the time. He was reportedly “going through it” and “having a tough time,” which led him to become “incredibly paranoid” when he found the journals she had methodically kept.

You can’t burn someone else’s journals like that

Odom, 46, was reading through the entries and somehow became “convinced that I was taking notes and sending them to the government or something crazy,” she recalled. That level of paranoia is just awful, and it led to the total loss of all her written memories.

Kardashian explained that the experience left such a lasting mark that she simply stopped writing. She felt like her efforts were “taken away in a f***ing blink, and what was the point?” While she admitted that she hates that she doesn’t journal anymore, she said there’s a piece of her that doesn’t ever want to risk that happening again. She clarified that while she wouldn’t call the experience “traumatic,” she just doesn’t want to open that door up again. When something that personal is violated like that, you can’t blame her for closing that chapter for good.

Khloé and the former NBA player have a complicated history. They married back in 2009, just 30 days after meeting each other, which is incredibly fast. They separated in 2013, but Kardashian paused their divorce filing to help Odom recover after he suffered a nearly-fatal drug overdose. They didn’t officially finalize their divorce until 2016.

Despite the intensity and the quickness of their relationship, Kardashian said in a March episode of her podcast that she “wouldn’t change” her marriage to Odom. She called it “one of the best experiences of my life.” However, she quickly added that she doesn’t think she would ever marry someone that fast again, noting, “Because you really don’t know the person.”
