Kerry Katona desperate to become a 'grandma' - but daughter has 'fear of pregnancy'

Kerry Katona admits she's desperate to become a grandma - but her daughter Heidi has a 'fear of pregnancy '.

The former face of Iceland, 42, has five kids, Molly, 21, Lilly, 20, Max, 15, Heidi, 16 and DJ, nine, but reckons none of them are "even close" to becoming parents.

Kerry left girl group Atomic Kitten, aged 20, when she was pregnant with Molly, who she shares with Westlife star Brian McFadden.

Opening up about the possibility of her famous family expanding, she said: "I would love to be one -[a grandma]. None of my kids are even close to having babies.

"Heidi always says she wants to be a mum one day, but she has a fear of pregnancy – it freaks her out.

"I think Max will make me a grandma first, but that’s a long time off."

In March, Kerry revealed Heidi was the only one of her children who had given her a Mother's Day card.

Explaining she she felt "let down and disappointed" by her four kids - and fiancé Ryan Mahoney - she said there had been a huge “lack of effort” from her brood.

Insisting mums need to be "showered with love", Kerry explained she'd been away from her kids while rehearsing for a pantomime tour with Dean Gaffney and Joanne Clifton.

Speaking about her disappointment, she wrote in her OK! magazine column: “I was on tour so I wasn’t at home. I felt really let down as I only got one card from Heidi. None of them rang me until later on in the evening.”

Last year, Kerry Katona revealed she'd been trying to conceive for four years with her fiancé, Ryan.

The Warrington-born singer said the couple were considering surrogacy - with Kerry admitting she "definitely wouldn't carry one" now.

Kerry also revealed she had a 'traumatic' birth with her youngest daughter, DJ, which put her off becoming pregnant in the future.

She told New magazine : "Gwyneth Paltrow has been open about how she nearly died when she gave birth to her daughter Apple, who's now 17.

"I can totally relate to her as I nearly died when I gave birth to DJ, and that's why I never want to be pregnant ever again. It was very traumatic and I still think about it.

"It's affected me that much that I don't want another pregnancy. Even though I still want more children, I'm not willing to put my body through that again."
