Kaye Adams says Strictly will be a 'challenge' as she usually doesn't dance sober

Loose Women 's Kaye Adams says she would love to loosen up with a few tipples before she takes to the floor on Strictly Come Dancing.

Kaye, 59, knows it's not the best idea, but adds: "It takes a lot to persuade me to dance, usually three gin and tonics.

"It's going to be a big challenge doing Strictly sober. But then I realised I've got to remember all the steps and how would I do that half-cut?!"

The talk-show host, who lives with partner, tennis coach Ian Campbell, and daughters Charley, 20, and Bonnie, 15, then jokes it would be a "miracle" if she was struck by the Strictly curse.

And she adds the one thing she definitely isn't excited about is sexy routines. She says: "The rumba is the one I dread. You're dragged behind your partner. I'll look like a wounded animal."

Kaye told Loose Women that signing for Strictly terrified her as she can't dance.

But she's no stranger to TV contests - she took part in Celebrity MasterChef and won Celebrity Mastermind.

Before appearing on TV assault course Total Wipeout she went to bed visualising success.

She's among the line-up on the new series (PA)

She tells Best magazine: "In my mind's eye I dodged obstacles and swung on ropes. The reality – I was like a doddery old woman.

"So I don't know whether I should now visualise myself as Roxie Hart or accept I’ll more likely be Mr Blobby."

The new Strictly series kicks off on BBC1 on Saturday September 17.

Former Strictly pro dancer Janette Manrara and Rylan Clark will return as co-hosts of spin-off Strictly – It Takes Two, starting on September 26.
