Katie Price's ex-husband Alex Reid's mom has died.
Carol lost her battle with dementia on Thursday (23.04.26), and the 50-year-old former mixed martial artist heartbreakingly missed her passing by "two minutes".
Later that day, Alex announced his beloved mom's death in an emotional tribute shared on Instagram.
He posted multiple shots of him and Carol over the years with the caption: "Today I celebrate the life of the best woman in my life, my mum, who went to join my darling dad in heaven!
"I’m absolutely heartbroken, but have a sense of ease knowing you are peace now not in pain.
"I unfortunately missed my mum‘s passing by two minutes, although I still managed to hold her in my arms, kiss and caress her face telling her how much I love her.
"Long live Carol Reid! (sic)"
Alex's fans rushed to the post's comments section to express their deepest sympathies, as one penned: "I’m so sorry Alex for your loss. You’re so lovely with your mum. Anyone can see the love between you both. May she RIP (sic)."
A second supporter typed: "I’m so sorry for your loss! May she rest in peace and I truly believe that she will always be with you in spirit cheering you on. God bless you and your family. (sic)"
And a third follower wrote: "Bless you Alex you’ve been by her side all these years she knew in those two minutes she will always be in your heart. love to you all x (sic)"
In 2020, Alex revealed that Carol was battling dementia - a degenerative condition which causes a decline in thinking, memory, and reasoning skills.
And the actor also admitted his "guilt" of moving her into a care home to receive round-the-clock care.
He penned on X: "I know how it feels moving mum into a home with dementia it’s worse than bereavement as they’re still here + so lost.
"U feel an immense sense of guilt 2want 2do more I see how scared mum sometimes is, wanting to come home, but I see she how she is adapting + her quality of life improve.”
In February 2010, Alex and model Katie Price, 47, got married in Las Vegas, seven months after they met.
But they split in January 2011, with their divorce finalised in March 2012.
Alex then struck up a romance with Nikki Manashe, and they have been engaged since 2013.
The couple welcomed daughter Anastasia into the world 2021, following a seven-year IVF battle, and twin boys Phoenix and Hunter in 2023.
