Karnataka: Efforts on to remove fuel from ship

MANGALURU: The Indian Coast Guard is maintaining constant liaison with the director general shipping, the Maritime Administrator of India, for early employment of salvour by owner P&I clubs, for early removal of 220 tonnes of fuel from the grounded vessel MV Princess Miral, said DIG S B Venkatesh, commander, Coast Guard, Karnataka.

The vessel ran aground off Mangaluru on June 21. Since then, Indian Coast Guard ships and aircraft are monitoring the vessel for any oil spill.
