Josie Gibson fears she 'couldn't be trusted' to host Big Brother amid ITV reboot

Josie Gibson has shed light on Big Brother returning to screens, 13 years after she appeared on the show and was catapulted to becoming a national treasure.

But while she remains in contact with Davina McCall who previously hosted the famous show on Channel 4, Josie, 38, has shed light on whether she would present the show.

Josie won the 11th series of Big Brother and it later emerged that she landed 77.5% of the public vote – the highest number in any series.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror in partnership with Meridian, the This Morning presenter shed light on potentially stepping out of the famous eye again.

Josie praised the former host of Big Brother, Davina McCall (PA)

"Oh my God, that's a massive, massive gig," she said before adding: Could I be trusted? I don't know? With an accent like this.

"I love the show, I absolutely idolised the show but it's quite daunting."

She went on to gush: "It's like bumping into like a long lost auntie, she's so lush.

"Davina is the first face I saw when I got thrown into the celebrity world so it's so comforting when I see her.

"She always says 'I'm so proud of you, I'm proud of all your achievements,' I thought 'Ain't that lovely?'"

Since finding fame, Josie has landed a string of major jobs but admits her "weirdest" one saw her jet out to Los Angeles to host the red carpet from Elton John's Oscars party.

The mum-of-one explained: "That was fricken weird, I suppose it wasn't weird – it was just so far away from where I come from and so far away from who I am.

"I just felt so out of my comfort zone but it was amazing at the same time."

Despite Josie facing some of her biggest fears on This Morning, she admits she does it to entertain others (ITV)

Recalling the names she bumped into at the Hollywood event, Josie said: "You're seeing all these massive celebs like Sharon Stone, O bumped into Kelly Osbourne.

"She was so lovely, and Sharon – Kelly was really nice and really supportive."

Viewers often see Josie embracing various challenges on This Morning with some being her biggest fears – rollercoasters and zip lining.

But while she may be terrified, she admits that she's putting herself through the challenge to cheer other people up.

Shedding light, she said: "So when I've been flung off of zip wire, or I'm on a roller coaster, I think if you've brightened up someone's day for five minutes then I've done my job."
