Jason Isaacs Reveals ‘Very Low’ White Lotus Salary & Calls Out ‘Worst Bully’ He’s Worked With

The White Lotus

The White Lotus star Jason Isaacs has really been in his yap era of late and we’re not complaining! Spill that tea, king.

During the press tour for The White Lotus season three, the Malfoy madman unleashed a heap of sneaky secrets about what went on behind the scenes of the show.

Despite season three being done and dusted — and feeling like somewhat of distant memory now — ya boi still has a whole lotta shit to say.

His latest tea-spill involves the salary he and his co-stars received to film the Mike White series, which he described as “very low”.

Speaking to Vulture, the star confirmed every actor on the cast earned $40,000 per episode.

“Generally actors don’t talk about pay in public because it’s ridiculously disproportionate to what we do — putting on makeup and funny voices — and just upsets the public,” Isaacs said.

“But compared to what people normally get paid for big television shows, that’s a very low price.”

Although he was disappointed by that figure, he admits that he and his co-stars were thrilled to take part in the juggernaut anthology series.

“But the fact is, we would have paid to be in it. We probably would have given a body part.”

When asked how he felt about being compensated the same as “lesser-experienced actors like Patrick Schwarzenegger“, he said: “I never work for money. I mean, I’ve done alright. People will think I have huge stockpiles of money but sadly, what I’ve done rather immaturely is expand my outgoings to match my incomings and pretty much spent everything I’ve earned over the years.”

Elsewhere in the chat, he called out the “worst bully” he’s ever worked with — which was not on the set of The White Lotus (which is surprising given his previous confession that there was a whole lot of drama on set).

Describing the bully as a “global icon”, Isaacs said the star “did all the old tricks of doing a completely different performance off-camera than on. Yeah, it sucked”. Adding that: “I’d never seen anything like it. Before, I would’ve licked the ground that this person walked on”.

He went on to describe some of the “bad behaviour” he witnessed on set from this unnamed actor, including: “Selfishness, cruelty, bullying, or people complaining to the person who’s getting them dressed, who doesn’t get in a year what they earn in a day, to pick their filthy underwear off the floor.”

As well as: “Not turning up, or going home early, or thinking they know better than the director, or being on crack and calling prostitutes to their trailer.”

When asked why he didn’t expose the offender, Isaacs explained, “I’m not so stupid as to even give hints or clues about who those people are. Because I have stories. I know where all the bodies are buried.”

“I often fantasise about doing a junket and telling the truth, and when I win the lottery, possibly that will be the case,” he said.

You and I both, Jason. You and I both.

Naturally, the internet has already begun to dig up theories as to who the actor is referring to.

As reported by Page Six, Jason Isaacs has 176 acting credits over the course of his 37-year career so it’s hard to pinpoint who this is about. However, he previously called out the same person in a 2011 interview with the Telegraph, which somewhat helps to narrow down the timeline.

“When he tells (sadly unprintable) stories of people he’s worked with, he’s very flamboyant, always putting on the perfect accent,” the Telegraph’s reporter wrote in the article at the time.

“And for one anecdote about an actor that kept on trying to push him out of the shot, he mimes the whole scene,” he added, which tracks with the description in the Vulture interview.

Page Six shared a list of stars the actor has worked with over that time who fit the bill, including Jeff Goldblum and Rowan Atkinson (The Tall Guy), Jude Law (Shopping) and Nicolas Cage (Windtalkers), to name a few.

Will we ever know the identity of this person? Who knows, honestly. Jason Isaacs is a bit of a loose canon nowadays — the name might slip from his razor sharp tongue any day now!
