James Forrest pens new Celtic contract as winger signs three-year extension

Celtic have announced a three-year contract extension for James Forrest.

It means the long-serving winger will remain tied to the club until at least 2026.

Forrest has been a mainstay at Celtic since his debut in 2010 and racked up 444 appearances to date.

The 30-year-old just clinched his 10th Premiership title and the club have confirmed a three-year extension to his existing deal.

He has struggled for games this season due to injury but Ange Postecoglou insists he remains an important part of his plans.

Postecoglou said: “James is my kind of player and has that attacking intent that can open up defences to make goals, not only for himself, but for others as well.

“He’s been a great servant to the football club thanks to his brilliant quality and attributes, and those have made him a proven contributor to the club’s success – you only have to look at his medal collection to see that.

“I know we will get more of this from him next season and beyond, and I’m delighted that this deal has been finalised.”
