Pick of the week
This Life of Mine With James Corden

James Corden has jumped on the celebrity podcast bandwagon, and what he lacks in speed he makes up for in star power: guests include Julianne Moore, David Beckham and Anna Wintour. His Desert Island Discs-esque format invites them to expand on the people, places and cultural artefacts that have shaped them. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the accomplished yapper effortlessly extracts a surfeit of stories from his patrons (see his episode with Dr Dre). Hannah J Davies

Untangled

TV documentary-makers and self-confessed non-experts Stacey Dooley and Ben Zand turn podcasters for this Channel 4 series that unpicks the biggest headlines of the week for younger audiences. It’s not going to replace Newsnight in your current affairs schedule, but you’ll surely admire their chutzpah – and Dooley’s Boris Johnson impression. HJD

So, Hear Me Out

What is Beethoven’s favourite fruit? Ba-na-na-na. “Can classical music be funny?” is the first musing in this delightful series. Radio 3’s Linton Stephens and the Southbank Centre’s Gillian Moore answer questions via the meaning and feelings involved with music. Just bring your ears and curiosity. Hollie Richardson

Cyber Hack

The BBC’s Joe Tidy and Sarah Rainsford go on the trail of Russian hackers Evil Corp, one of the most pervasive cybercrime gangs ever. We’re taken from Moscow’s underground street racing scene to multimillion-dollar FBI bounties to trying to figure out if they operate under the protection of the Russian security services. It’s a fascinating, if troubling tale. Alexi Duggins

Cotton Capital

The Guardian’s one-off podcast looks at the 80th anniversary of Manchester hosting the fifth Pan African Congress, which tried to create a radical new blueprint for change at a time when only three independent countries were run by Black people. Journalist Chris Osuh talks to writers, activists and his community for an engaging journey into identity, politics and love. AD
