ITV This Morning's Phillip Schofield to be replaced by comedian on show this week

A presenter and comedian will appear on This Morning as he is replacing Phillip Schofield later this week. It comes as Phillip is taking a week off the ITV show.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond have been presenting the ITV show Monday and Tuesday. It has now been revealed that The Masked Singer presenter Joel Dommett will stand in for Wednesday and Thursday, according to The Mirror.

Taking to social media, ITV shared: "Join @hollywills and guest presenter @joeldommett, this Wednesday and Thursday on #ThisMorning! See you at 10am on ITV1, STV and @ITVX!"

Phillip Schofield normally joins Holly Willoughby on the ITV show from 10am each weekday. The pair usually entertain the nation with a whole host of guests, including celebrities and experts. But on Monday (March 27) and Tuesday (March 28), Holly was joined by former Big Brother star Alison Hammond instead.

Appearing on This Morning alongside Holly on Monday, Alison said: "It's so good to be here, it's lovely. It's nice actually, start of the week and you are here." Holly replied: "It's lovely having you here."

While the presenters haven't given an exact reason as to why Phil is off, they did confirm that he would be away for the remainder of the week. Holly said: "Phillip is having the week off so all the adults have left the building and Alison has come!"

Fans on Twitter have been worried about Phil's absence. One user said: "#ThisMorning we miss you Phil where are you? Can anyone explain?" Another said: "#ThisMorning where's our Phil?"

Debbie said: "I wonder where Phil is. #ThisMorning." A fourth added: "Why is he off?"
