ITV I'm A Celebrity's Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnely wade into Ronaldo row with message to Piers Morgan

It's not just I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here hitting the headlines as Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan has been causing rumbles in the football world - not in the jungle - and beyond. However, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, who host the ITV reality show, appear to have waded into the row.

Manchester United star Ronaldo has sat down for a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan amid growing tensions between the footballer and the Manchester club he made a stunning return to last August, 12 years after he last played for the club before moving on to Real Madrid.

In an emotional moment, Ronaldo told Piers on his TalkTV show that the death of his newborn son in April was “the most difficult moment” of his life. The footballer's girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to twins earlier this year but while his daughter Bella survived, Angel tragically died.

Also in the interview, Ronaldo has claimed United were trying to force him out and criticised boss Erik ten Hag while also saying the Glazer family do not care about the club. He was also critical of Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville for speaking out against him, suggesting Rooney was jealous of him because his career was still ongoing.

After numerous teaser clips were released, the first full installment of the two-part interview aired on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Wednesday evening (November 16). Elsewhere, I'm A Celebrity was airing the latest action from the jungle which included Chris Moyles having a disastrous time in only his second Bushtucker trial.

Following the show, Ant and Dec headed over to social media where they appeared on Instagram Live for their latest daily debrief. During the previous live video, Ant because frustrated as I'm A Celeb fans sent in their suggestions for future campmates.

But some of the outlandish requests got to Ant and he didn't hold back. "Hold on... Taylor Swift... next year," Ant said picking up on one of the comments made during their live appearance on the social media platform. As Dec laughed in the background, Ant stood in front of the camera and fumed: "Right, seriously. It's getting beyond a joke now because you're an idiot for saying that."

As he went to return to his spot behind Dec, his co-star said: "Just stay there, someone's said Ed Sheeran." Kicking off again, Ant raged: "Right, you're a bigger idiot because he's never going to do it. Taylor Swift's not going to do it, Ed Sheeran's not going to do it... Peter Kay is NOT going to do it. He's just announced a tour, you idiot!"

And his rage appeared to continue following Wednesday night's show as more suggestions came flooding in. Ant went on another 'idiot' rant over the mention of actor Tom Hardy and then England and Spurs footballer Harry Kane. But the mere mention of Beyonce had Ant pushing his co-host out of the way and calling out the name of the fan live.

"You're an idiot," Ant fumed. "You're a fool, man!" A suggestion for Alex Ferguson to be a future campmate also raised the duo's eyebrows but Ant did admit: "Actually, that would be good!"

When someone said Ronaldo, they decided it was time to wrap up their Instagram Live because it was 'getting silly'. However, Ant couldn't help make a cheeky dig. "I'll tell you what, the way things are going at Man United, he might be in here next year. See you next year Ronaldo!"

Dec then mentioned his latest interview and said with a grin: "He was interviewed by Piers Morgan... Now Piers, there is a campmate I would like to see." Ant then interjected: "Piers Morgan... see you next year, kidda!" Dec then ended by quipping: "There's more people watching this [than Talk TV] isn't there?"
