ITV Corrie star Colson Smith worlds away from cobbles during sunsoaked Christmas after co-star's multiple visit to first home

Coronation Street star Colson Smith couldn't have looked any further away from the cobbles as he ditched Manchester for Christmas. The actor, who is known for playing Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, has been sharing updates on Instagram from his festive trip to New Zealand.

Colson 24, has been wowing his 179,000 followers by sharing snaps from his sun-soaked getaway. One of the images posted to his grdi showed just what he got up to on Boxing Day and it's fair to say it's very different to what he would have been doing if he stayed on UK soil this Christmas.

The soap star could be seen posing on top of a car as he and his pals as they appeared to be preparing to head off on a cross-country drive. "Boxing Day 2022 - NEW ZEALAND TOP GEAR STYLE CHALLENGE," he captioned the cool snap before following it up with another, showing him on the move with the countryside behind him, as his friends posed inside two vehicles following behind him.

"For the brief time I was leading the convoy…" Colson commented. "Got stuck twice. Broke down once. Toe rope snapped once,"he added in the caption of the image.

Later, Colson showed off his toned physique in a cricket shirt. The sports fan headed out to watch a game and shared his joy at having been able to enjoy two seasons of cricket this year. " Perks of 2 Summers is 2 seasons of cricket!" he wrote alongside the beaming snap taken at F itzherbert Park Oval.

And Colson, who joined Corrie in 2014, looked fantastic as he showed off his weightloss. shocked fans when he revealed his epic 10 stone weight loss for the first time in 2020. The TV star completely overhauled his lifestyle and documented his journey in his own YouTube film, Bored Of Being the Fat Kid.

When lockdown hit, and the cast and crew suspended filming at the Salford-based set, Colson packed up and went back to his family. It was then, he previously told the Manchester Evening News, that he chose to put himself first after spending so long being a self-confessed “people pleaser''.

It is then he found his love of running and while lockdown was challenging for everyone, it turned out to be the best thing for him. Since then, Colson has regularly updated his followers on his latest runs and gym sessions as he continues with his new lifestyle.

And Colson's trip to New Zealand also means he's missed Christmas in his first home. Back in October, the Corrie favourite confirmed he had moved into his new abode - two years after making the purchase of his first property. Sharing a snap on Instagram at the time, he said: "Bought my first house in 2020, after a few years of playing Bob The Builder it’s now time to make it a home."

It comes after Colson spent time living with two of his co-stars. He used to live with Jack P Shepherd but when the David Platt actor moved in with his girlfriend, Colson moved in with Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley in the ITV soap. And when talking to the Manchester Evening News earlier this month, Colson said one of the two had already made quite a few visits to his new gaffe.

"I lived with Jack for a year and Ben for three years so I've grown up with them two as my senior influences and I'm on my own now," he told us. "It's been interesting being a homeowner. I'm still in the process of finishing snagging so it's not quite perfect," he said of his new home.

"I'm very privileged and very lucky. I wasn't from Manchester but now it's nice to call it home and be set-up here," he added. "Ben has been around an awful lot. It's only Thursday and he's done three nights this week."
