ITV Coronation Street stars post photos from Edinburgh trip sparking romance rumours

Two Coronation Street stars have enjoyed a beautiful day out during a special visit to one of Edinburgh's most famous landmarks amid rumours the pair are dating.

Corrie actress, Georgia Taylor beamed as she went on an active birthday activity in the capital alongside her former co-star.

The actress, who plays Toyah Habeeb in the ITV soap, decided to spend her 43rd birthday outdoors as she headed up to Arthur's Seat during a trip to Edinburgh reports the Manchester Evening News.

The star wasn't alone as she was joined on the wholesome day out by Charlie De Melo, who fans will probably best know for playing her late husband, Imran Habeeb, in the England-based, long-running soap.

Georgia first posted a picture of the scenic view of the city from the top of the ancient volcano which is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh.

Her walking boots could also be seen sneaking into the shot as she took a break to take in the fresh air and the views.

A second image showed both Georgia and Charlie posing for a selfie. Wigan-born Georgia cosied up in a teal-coloured beanie hat and patchwork scarf while she sported a khaki-coloured coat and a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Charlie, who left Corrie last year as Imran after he died following a car accident caused by Toyah, sported a black coat as he grinned towards the camera.

"Birthday treat up Arthur's Seat," Georgia captioned the post with a love heart eye emoji. And her Corrie co-stars - both past and present - were soon filling up the comments.

Jane Danson, who plays Georgia's on-screen sister Leanne Battersby, replied: "Happy birthday sis. Hope you had a lovely day."

Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce commented: "Happy birthday, smasher! Give my love to that De Melo beaut. x." Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank penned: "Happy birthday darling!!"

Former soap star Kel Allen, who played Laura Neelan in Corrie, said: "Happy birthday gorgeous NC. Love you two cuties." While Kelly Neelan actress Millie Gibson added: "Ahhh you two," alongside two red hearts.

Fans also flooded the post with birthday wishes before Georgia took to her Instagram Story with another snap of her and Charlie. The new selfie showed the pair smiling for the camera having appeared to be celebrating Georgia's special day.

Charlie looked dapper in a red waistcoat which he sported with a gold-coloured tie while Georgia donned a black dress with her blonde locks kept in a casual short style.

Georgia and Charlie haven't confirmed a relationship between the pair but rumours started to swirl after they were spotted together earlier this year.

Charlie left Corrie back in June after almost five years of playing Imran. The character's exit came as Imran and Toyah battled Abi Webster for custody of baby Alfie.

After Toyah found Imran at the police station, the pair jumped in the car and as they chatted, viewers suddenly saw newlyweds Imran and Toyah slumped unconscious in the wreckage of their car and immediately had questions about what had happened and who - if either of them - would survive.

Imran was then seen battling to get his car door open before wincing through the pain to grab his phone out of his pocket and call an ambulance. He begged them to hurry as his wife was unconscious and bits of the scaffolding continued to fall.

But then in a heartbreaking twist of fate, it was Imran who ended up succumbing to his injuries. After dragging Toyah to safety and staying by her side while she was placed in the back of an ambulance, the solicitor suddenly collapsed and died of a cardiac arrest on the scene.

Speaking about his exit at the time, Charlie mades it clear it was nothing to do with the job or Corrie, and told the Manchester Evening News and other press that he had a "wonderful" time of the nation’s most famous street.

"It was just if not now, when? And if not now, possibly never" he added after revealing he originally planned to bow out of the soap before the Covid pandemic.
