ITV Coronation Street Ryan Prescott's life, 'shamed' admission and Merseyside roots

Coronation Street's Ryan Prescott has recently established himself as one of Weatherfield's major stars.

The 34-year-old has played Ryan Connor on the Cobbles since 2018. He has been through a turbulent period in the ITV show over recent weeks as he was subjected to an acid attack from Justin.

The villainous character had developed an obsession with Daisy Midgeley and he wanted throw the acid at her before Ryan stepped in the way. Fans feared Ryan could have been about to exit the show as it teased he would leave Weatherfield to start a new life in Ibiza.

He was offered a job as a DJ by Crystal Hyde and seemed set to move to the Spanish island to pursue his dreams. Crystal has cooled her interest in Ryan after the attack and Daisy has since pretended to be her friend over text to keep Ryan's morale up.

The character, played by Charlotte Jordan, has been supporting Ryan in the aftermath of his injuries but spoilers reveal the connection could prove to be deeper as a romantic twist could be on the horizon.

Ryan looks set to be a source of drama in the Weatherfield but his life away from the soap is fortunately less turbulent. The actor hails from Southport and regularly keeps fans up to date with his life on Instagram.

He took to the social media platform last month to reveal he completed his education in the city at LIPA. He shared a black and white snap while studying in rehearsals and was in disbelief at how quickly time had passed.

He said: "Drama school was 16 years ago! …what happened? We were shaved, shamed and shoved into the most exciting three years of learning, building friendships- some of which are still anchoring me to this day.

Ryan heaped praise on his time at the school as he added: "Time has a way of shaping our lives increasingly quicker, whether we’re ready for it to or not. I wouldn’t trade my 3 years at LIPA for anything…not even the 50K of student debt, which spoiler alert…you actually end up paying back.

"Thanks to the class of 2007-10 for being along side each other for the ride. And to everyone else there who touched our lives. And to Herman, for still having my back after all these years. Miss you guys."
